These sneakers are made with 100% Fair Trade-certified organic cotton from India and a tough rubber sole. The sole is produced from FSC-certified  all natural, sustainable latex that is grown in a natural environment in Sri Lanka. The FSC certification (Forest Stewardship Council) means that the rubber was actually tapped from a tree in a well managed and growing forest instead of being made from chemicals like other rubber products.  In addition, no indigenous wildlife or peoples have been displaced from the forest.

A Fair Trade premium is paid to both the rubber producers in Sri Lanka and to the shoe stitchers in Pakistan so that we can ensure healthy labor rights all the way down our supply chain.  The premium goes into a fund that pays an extra wage to all of our workers, to health insurance for the workers and their families, and to community initiatives such as a micro credit program and a new water pipe bringing clean water access to hundreds of families.

All of the footwear is 100% vegan and cruelty-free.  The supplier is monitored and certified by the Fair Trade Labeling Organization and by SA 8000.
